Spring Japan marked twelve years of flying with a domestic flash sale, open from noon on 30 July 2026 to 15:59 on 3 August. Narita to New Chitose and Narita to Hakodate started at JPY 4,500 one way, for travel between 1 September and 8 October.

“All domestic routes” means four of them, and Narita to Saga has not flown since 2023

RouteSale fare, one way
Tokyo (Narita) – Sapporo (New Chitose)JPY 4,500 and up
Tokyo (Narita) – HakodateJPY 4,500 and up
Tokyo (Narita) – HiroshimaJPY 5,000 and up
Nagoya (Chubu) – Sapporo (New Chitose)JPY 5,000 and up

Each figure is a “from” price, both directions, and the fare moved with the date and the flight.

The press release (Vol. 26-12) says special fares were prepared across all domestic routes. The fare table stops at four sectors because four is all the airline has. Narita to Saga was suspended on 1 July 2023 and does not appear in the summer 2026 domestic schedule, which runs from 29 March to 24 October. Hakodate and Chubu to New Chitose both opened on 23 April 2026, and those two are what brought the network to four.

The awkward part is the airline’s own route map, which as of September 2026 still shows Saga out of Narita and still omits the two routes opened in April. To confirm whether a sector is flying, read the timetable rather than the map.

The travel period explains the price. Running from 1 September to 8 October, it steps entirely around Obon and the summer holidays and gathers around the autumn long weekend — the quiet band. Doubled up for a return trip, that is from JPY 9,000 on Narita to New Chitose and from JPY 10,000 on Narita to Hiroshima, before the payment handling fee and the passenger facility charge. The figures are one-way fares alone, so a total with a checked bag and a chosen seat only appears at the final confirmation screen.

The anniversary campaign had five parts, and the flash sale was the only one that closed on 3 August. The rest ran on.

CampaignPeriod
Follow-and-post event on X (one domestic and one international return ticket)30 July 12:00 – 17 August 23:59
JPY 500 seat selection coupon (domestic, members only)Claim and use 30 July 12:00 – 24 October 23:59; travel 1 August – 24 October
International in-flight sales coupon (2% off duty-free, souvenirs and sundries; 5% off the airline’s own merchandise)8 August – 31 October, handed out at airport check-in (not at Beijing or at airports in Japan)
In-flight events (a seat-number prize draw on domestic flights, rock-paper-scissors on international)1 August only, on every flight operated on the anniversary itself

The one with real money in it is the seat selection coupon. It makes standard seat selection free to the value of JPY 500, and both claiming and using it ran to 24 October. Its travel window, 1 August to 24 October, is wider than the flash sale’s 1 September to 8 October. It was set to end once the planned number had gone, so anyone who missed the sale but was flying in the autumn still had something worth claiming.

Who it’s forTravellers who can move dates into September or early October and are content with Hokkaido or Hiroshima. New Chitose sits in the cheapest band, so a driving trip through eastern Hokkaido in autumn gets its transport cheaply. It does not work for a summer or Obon trip home — travel started on 1 September, so August is out entirely — and it does not reach Kyushu or Okinawa at all, because the airline’s domestic network is three routes out of Narita plus Chubu to New Chitose.
Already booked?Travel had to fall between 1 September and 8 October. Checked baggage and seat selection are charged separately, so whether you can make the return trip on hand baggage alone is what moves the total — packing into the 7 kg limit is the difference between two prices. For an early departure out of Narita, settle the night before first.
Compared with past salesThe airline’s July offer, a Narita to Hakodate sale from JPY 4,880, was part of a wider campaign running 1 to 21 July and covered only two sectors, Narita–Hakodate and Chubu–New Chitose. On the matched sector, this round is JPY 380 lower, about 7.8%. Spring Japan does not move its floor much from round to round; what changes is which sectors are in and when you can fly.

More: Jetstar aimed at the same September, and its floor was JPY 710 lower

Jetstar ran a sale for September onwards at the same time, with a domestic floor of JPY 3,790 on Narita to Kansai. That is JPY 710 below Spring Japan’s 4,500. The two lists barely overlap, though: Jetstar pointed west and south out of Narita, Spring Japan pointed north, and New Chitose is the only destination both carried. On that one pair out of Narita, Jetstar was JPY 4,590 and Spring Japan JPY 4,500 — ninety yen apart.

From Chubu the picture inverts. Spring Japan charged JPY 5,000 to New Chitose, JPY 500 more than out of Narita, while Jetstar’s only Chubu fare was JPY 5,150 to Fukuoka, with no New Chitose at all. Flying from Nagoya to Hokkaido in September, this round left one option. Domestic seats go spare in September across the industry, which is why several carriers put a sale on the same month at the same time.
