Jin Air is handing out a promotion code, KTOUKB1, worth JPY 2,500 one way and JPY 5,000 return off the air fare on Kobe to Seoul (Incheon). It runs to 31 October 2026, for members logged in on the Japanese site or the app.

The September holiday is excluded in both directions, leaving 60 usable days out of 75

The code was issued from 17 August and travel runs from 18 August to 31 October, but the excluded dates are listed in detail. Japan departures are out from 18 to 27 September, on 4 and 5 October, and from 9 to 11 October. Korea departures are out from 19 to 26 September, on 3 October, on 9 October and from 11 to 12 October. The travel window is 75 days long, of which 15 are excluded leaving Japan and 12 leaving Korea — 60 and 63 usable days respectively, which is roughly one day in five gone on the Japan side.

Where those days sit matters more than how many there are. The Japanese blackout of 18 to 27 September and the Korean blackout of 19 to 26 September overlap almost entirely, so building a round trip around the autumn holiday loses both legs at once rather than one. The 9th of October is excluded in both directions too, and the 11th appears on both lists. Whether this code is usable at all comes down to whether you can pull the dates off the holiday and onto weekdays.

What the discount touches is narrow as well. The airline states that it applies to the air fare only, with the fuel surcharge, airport taxes and the aviation insurance surcharge payable separately. On a short international LCC route the tax side is often larger than the fare side, so the real discount against the total paid is smaller than JPY 5,000 makes it sound. There are payment conditions on top: the discount attaches only to a booking made on the Japanese site and paid in Japanese yen, and it cannot be combined with another promotion code, coupon or discount. Infants are excluded. Reading what a quoted fare covers is set out separately.

Get the order right. Log in first, then enter the itinerary, then type KTOUKB1 into the promotion code field and search. Without a member account the field does nothing. The search results show the discounted amount, so what actually came off is visible on that screen rather than at checkout. At the far end, the three-day Seoul itinerary covers the ground costs, and what a night in Seoul costs decides whether the JPY 5,000 survives the trip.

Who it’s forTravellers who can leave from Kobe and shift their dates onto weekdays away from the September holiday. The window runs to the end of October, so there is little reason to rush: fixing dates that clear the blackout and then waiting for the fare to bottom out lowers the total more than booking early does. It is the wrong offer for anyone using another airport — the cost of reaching Kobe cancels JPY 5,000 without much effort.
Already booked? An existing booking cannot take it. The code is entered at the time of booking and the airline gives no route for applying it afterwards. Rebooking means checking the cancellation fee against the JPY 5,000 first. The airline also notes that some periods of the schedule are not yet confirmed, and that cancelling or changing a booking after the code’s validity has expired does not get the code reissued.
Compared with past salesThis airline switches between shapes. July’s monthly MY Deal was a 15 per cent rate; this one is a flat amount. JPY 5,000 equals 15 per cent of JPY 33,333, so below roughly JPY 33,000 for the round-trip air fare the flat amount wins and above it the percentage does. July’s twice-yearly sale put Seoul in the mid-15,000s one way, which is around JPY 30,000 return — just under the crossover.
