T’way Air gave out a coupon worth JPY 3,500 on return payments for four regional Korean routes — Busan, Daegu, Cheongju and Jeju. Distribution ran from 11 to 23 August 2026 and travel to 30 November. The official line for it was “not Seoul, a different Korea”, and Incheon and Gimpo are indeed outside it. One coupon applies per booking number.

Two places on the official site put the travel start five days apart, so 18 to 22 August has to be tested

For the same coupon, the image on the event detail page reads 26.08.23 – 26.11.30 with some periods excluded, while the terms column in the coupon book reads 2026-08-18 – 2026-11-30. Five days apart, and for anyone aiming at 18 to 22 August the two displays give opposite answers. The only way through is to claim the coupon, run an availability search on a return for those dates, and watch whether JPY 3,500 comes off at the payment screen. Building an itinerary on a secondhand “usable from 18 August” is the risky move here. Reading a split official display comes up often enough with Korean LCC campaigns to be worth a method.

Where you can go depends on where you start. The tabs on the official page give Tokyo as Busan and Daegu, Osaka as all four cities, and Sapporo as Busan. The Fukuoka tab cannot be read at all: the image it serves is the same file as the one on the Osaka tab, so whether Fukuoka means the same four cities or simply never got its own artwork is not something the official display settles. Departing from Fukuoka means going as far as the booking screen and checking Cheongju and Jeju for yourself.

The amount reads larger than it spends. One coupon per booking number means two people on one booking share JPY 3,500, which is JPY 1,750 each, and the per-head effect keeps thinning as the party grows. Combination is ruled out cleanly: a return itinerary containing an event fare cannot take the coupon, so stacking it on the cheapest fare from the August t’sale and its AUG26 code does not work. Booking is limited to the official site, mobile web and the app — not the call centre, not the airport counter. Payment takes credit cards issued in Japan or abroad, PayPal, PayPay, Rakuten Pay and Eximpay+, but a mismatch between the ticket currency and the coupon currency voids it. The airline also states that numbers are limited, that distribution may close early, and that particular dates may fall outside the discount on particular routes. If Korea itself is not the point, the same airline’s wider campaign running from 15 July to 31 October — up to 7 per cent off international routes from Japan connecting through Korea, applied automatically, for travel to 27 March 2027 — reaches considerably further.

Who it’s forTravellers flying a return to Busan, Daegu, Cheongju or Jeju in the autumn. Buying closed on 23 August and flying ran to 30 November, so the coupon could be claimed before the autumn dates were settled. It is useless for Obon or the first half of August: travel starts on the 18th at the earliest under either display. For Seoul, the [General] JPY 2,000 coupon handed out at the same time is the one to look at instead.
Already booked?Check that the booking is a paid return. An outbound on T’way and a return on another carrier does not qualify. The coupon has to be claimed from the coupon book into My Coupons before it can be applied, so claiming comes first and searching second. Checked baggage and seat selection are charged separately, and whether you can stay inside a 7 kg cabin allowance decides whether the JPY 3,500 survives to the end.
Compared with past salesThree air ticket coupons were out at once, and they divide by period rather than compete. Flying by 31 October meant [General] JPY 2,000, paid for between 1 and 31 August. Flying from 1 November to 27 March 2027 meant [Early bird] JPY 3,000, on the same payment window. And flying to the four regional Korean cities between late August and the end of November meant JPY 3,500, the largest number and the narrowest scope — narrowed on destination and on date at the same time.

More: for Busan alone, this runs straight into Air Busan’s coupon

Air Busan’s second Busan Trip Coupon was running over the same weeks, to 24 October. It covers one route only, Takamatsu to Busan, and in exchange takes JPY 9,000 off a return of JPY 11,000 or more — an order of magnitude above JPY 3,500. T’way’s coupon works on four cities from Tokyo, Osaka and Sapporo. Which one wins depends entirely on whether your destination and your departure airport were fixed before you started looking.

The comparison has to be made on totals, not on the size of the discount. Air Busan applies its coupon on the payment screen, members only, first come first served; T’way requires the coupon to be claimed from a book and the trip to be paid as a return. Two different mechanisms produce two different final numbers, and the larger headline is not reliably the smaller bill. Regional Korean cities are cheaper on the ground as well, so what a night in Busan or Daegu costs belongs in the same sum as the fare.
