Cebu Pacific opened a launch seat sale on the Nagoya/Chubu to Cebu route it will fly from 19 November 2026. Selling ran until 23:59 Japan time on 11 August 2026, with one-way base fares from JPY 100 for travel between 19 November 2026 and 31 March 2027. Taxes, the fuel surcharge, airport charges and the payment handling fee all sit outside that figure.

Stacked on top of that JPY 100 are the Japanese international tourist tax and passenger service facility charge, the Philippine departure tax, the fuel surcharge and a payment handling fee, which is why the checkout figure runs to many times the fare. Only the final total is worth deciding on. Two other sales were selling from Japan the same week and neither used the same yardstick: T’way Air’s August t’sale quoted JPY 15,183 one way and Malaysia Airlines’ Visit Malaysia round JPY 72,900 return, both with the fuel surcharge and taxes already inside. Face value suggests a gap of more than 150 times; the measurements differ, so nothing has actually been compared. Reading fares quoted on different bases is set out separately.

The 02:35 departure is the constraint that shapes everything else. Being at the airport by around 00:30 means checking out of the hotel in the morning, filling more than half a day in the city with your luggage somewhere, and crossing to Mactan in the middle of the night. Central Cebu to the airport is about 30 minutes by taxi, but transport at that hour is worth arranging before the day arrives. With small children, or with work the morning after you land, it is the wrong flight.

Fixed operating days are the second constraint. Monday, Wednesday and Friday departures do not exist, so a Saturday-out, Tuesday-back trip of three nights works while a Friday-evening dash does not. And the launch was still more than three months away: what JPY 100 secured was a seat on a route that had not flown once, and schedules and aircraft move around in the weeks after an opening. This is Cebu Pacific’s second route from Chubu Centrair after Manila, and Cebu connects onward to 23 cities within the Philippines, so the same ticket can carry a domestic leg.
