TAOYA Aso, which opened in Minamiaso Village, Kumamoto, on 1 July 2026, is an inn with an “all-inclusive” price: alcohol at dinner and drinks in the lounge are part of the room rate. Looking at one night for two adults in one room with dinner and breakfast, date by date on the official booking screen, an early-December weekday came to JPY 47,400 and a Saturday ran from JPY 70,800 to JPY 106,000. The rate swings widely with the night and the room type.

Prices appear on the booking screen once you enter dates and guests. The table below shows the total for the “dinner and breakfast, standard buffet plan” for two adults in one room. The member price is exactly 90% of the total shown.

Tue 29 DecJPY 70,800JPY 63,720Standard Twin with in-room bath (peak date)

Note that the room type differs by date. The 1 and 8 December prices are for a shower-only room (25 m²); the 21 and 28 November and 29 December prices are for a room with an in-room bath (26 m²). Because the room types differ, not all of the gaps in the table are gaps in date. On the three Tuesdays the booking screen showed no rooms for these conditions.

The JPY 47,400 for dinner and breakfast on 1 December works out at JPY 23,700 a head. The plan with breakfast but no dinner was JPY 45,200 that day, and room only was JPY 44,000. Adding dinner with unlimited alcohol raised the price by JPY 2,200 for the room, and adding breakfast by JPY 1,200. On this day the room accounts for most of the price.

What is included switches by time of day, from late afternoon into the night

The official facilities page marks as free: afternoon tea, night afternoon tea, the lounge, the late-night snack, the high-performance massage chairs, loaned games, the courtyard, Wi-Fi throughout and parking. Afternoon tea, from about 14:00 to 17:00, centres on freshly made cakes such as a Mont Blanc; night afternoon tea, from about 17:00 to 22:00, offers baked sweets and fruit to go with local sake and wine. Alcohol in the lounge is served from the afternoon.

Dinner is at THE FRAME from 17:00 to 21:30, on a 90-minute limit, and the hours can change with how busy the night is. The buffet has teppanyaki sukiyaki of Japanese black beef from the live kitchen, plus roast chicken and Aka beef keema curry; from September 2026 to February 2027 the autumn-winter menu adds a winter yellowtail and root-vegetable hotpot and seared pork belly ssam. Haagen-Dazs ice cream is also all you can eat. Alcohol with dinner is free, and breakfast (07:00 to 10:00, on a 60-minute limit) comes with a free glass of sparkling wine.

For the baths, the open-air baths “Gakunoen” and “Keinowaku” alternate between men and women, with water of the sodium bicarbonate type, known as a beautifying spring. Bathing is open 15:00 to 24:00 and 05:00 to 10:00. There is also a sauna and a cold plunge.

Charged extra: private baths, à la carte dishes and karaoke after 7 p.m.

There are two private baths, and they cannot be reserved ahead: apply by 23:00 on the day, and a cleaning of about 15 minutes follows each use. The shop and anniversary cakes are also charged. The à la carte dishes are added on top of the buffet, which suits adding a single dish to a celebration dinner.

Who it’s forPeople who drink and who spend the evening inside the building. Food and drink are attached to four points in the day — afternoon tea, dinner, night afternoon tea and the late-night snack. It does not suit anyone arriving late and leaving early, or anyone who does not drink, because only dinner and breakfast are then used.
Already booked? The private baths are taken on the day only, in slots of 45 minutes. The shuttle bus from the station must be reserved by 18:00 the day before. Rooms in the area can be compared here, since the same dates can show different plans on different sites.
Where it sits in the budgetEven if the rate is high, the daily total is easier to predict because food and drink inside the building are folded in. If the saving has to come from somewhere, it comes from the journey: pairing a stay like this with something like the Seishun 18 Ticket moves the cost off the hotel line. On getting the points back at the payment stage, see carrying several credit cards.

Getting there: by car, or by shuttle bus from Hakusui-kogen station in about 7 minutes

By car it is about 50 minutes from Kumamoto IC on the Kyushu Expressway and about 30 minutes from Aso Kumamoto Airport, with free parking for about 50 cars. By train, take the shuttle bus from Minami-Aso-mizu-no-umareru-sato-Hakusui-kogen station on the Minamiaso Railway, about 7 minutes. Guests can ride it if they reserve beforehand; the contribution is JPY 100 each way, and the booking closes at 18:00 the day before. Same-day bookings are not taken.

The bus leaves the station at 14:05 and 15:40 and the hotel at 10:30, so it runs once or twice a day. Check-in is 15:00 and check-out 11:00; the 15:40 bus arrives just before 16:00, in time for afternoon tea, which runs to about 17:00. The local bus from Nakamatsu Station takes about 7 minutes to the JA Kukino Fuel Station stop, followed by a walk of about 20 minutes.

There are 11 room types, from the Standard Twin (26 m², 1–2 guests, in-room bath) to the Superior Four (64 m², 1–4 guests, in-room bath) and an 8-mat Japanese-style room for 1–3. With three guests, the third bed is a sofa bed or a sliding “parent-and-child” bed. A futon for a child under three cannot be added beyond the room’s capacity, because of the room’s size.
