Jin Air is handing out a promotion code, KTOPUS, worth JPY 2,000 one way and JPY 4,000 return off the air fare on Busan flights from Fukuoka, Naha and Shimojishima. It is capped at the first 300 claims and runs from 17 August to 31 October 2026, for logged-in members booking on the Japanese site or the app.

The page has no travel-period line, so whether 31 October is the booking deadline or the flying deadline cannot be settled

Jin Air opened a Kobe route promotion on the same 17 August, and that page carries a clearly labelled travel period of 18 August to 31 October 2026. The Busan page has the discount, the excluded dates and the conditions, and no line for travel at all. So 31 October could be the last day to book or the last day to fly, and the official wording does not decide it. Filling that gap by assumption is how an itinerary goes wrong. Anyone aiming at November should put the dates into the booking screen and watch whether the code is accepted before committing. If the framework matches the Kobe route it ends with 31 October travel — but that is not what the page says.

The excluded dates are stated. Japan departures are out from 18 to 27 September, on 4 and 5 October, and from 9 to 11 October; Korea departures from 19 to 26 September, on 3 October, on 9 October and from 11 to 12 October. That is 15 days and 12 days, and it matches the Kobe promotion day for day, which makes it reasonable to treat every Jin Air code from Japan this autumn as missing the same calendar. The September holiday is almost entirely excluded in both directions. Whether the dates can move onto weekdays decides whether the code is usable at all.

To use it: log in, enter the itinerary, type KTOPUS into the promotion code field and search. The results show the discounted amount, so what came off is visible there rather than at checkout. The event page also carries an entry button, which is easy to miss. It cannot be combined with another promotion code, coupon or discount, and it comes off the air fare alone — the fuel surcharge and airport taxes are untouched. Reading what a quoted fare covers is set out separately.

Who it’s forTravellers who can skip the September holiday and land on an October weekday. JPY 4,000 return is not a dramatic number, but the window is two and a half months long and a flat amount is worth proportionally more on a cheap day. It is the wrong offer for anyone planning on the assumption that the allocation survives to 31 October: the cap of 300 is published and the remaining count is not, so the code can run out before the date does.
Already booked? If you are counting on Naha or Shimojishima, check the flight schedule before anything else. Three departure points are in the campaign name, and the official page does not show which flights are eligible. On a route with few operating days, avoiding the excluded dates can leave only a handful of flights to choose from.
Compared with past salesOut of Kyushu the windows overlapped with Jeju Air’s Kyushu-to-Korea promotion, which ran to 25 August. That one advertised JPY 100 one way from Fukuoka while Kagoshima came out cheaper on the total — a different way of presenting the number. Two airlines quoting different things can only be compared on the totals at the booking screen.

More: Air Busan is tiered and Jin Air is flat, so the gap widens on the cheap days

The other Busan offer running alongside it was Air Busan’s second Busan Trip Coupon: one departure point, Takamatsu, a discount that climbs from JPY 2,000 to JPY 9,000 with the value of the round trip, a window from 1 August to 24 October, and an allocation that was first come, first served with the number unpublished. KTOPUS covers three airports, pays a flat JPY 4,000 on a return whatever the fare, and caps at 300.

A tiered coupon rewards the expensive ticket: the top JPY 9,000 needs a round trip of JPY 11,000 or more, so choosing a cheap day shrinks the discount with it. A flat amount runs the other way, and its effective rate rises as the fare falls. For anyone whose method is to hunt for the cheap date and buy it, Jin Air’s side gives the higher percentage even though the headline number is lower. Rooms move the total as much as the fare does, and what a night in Busan costs is the figure to set beside JPY 4,000.
