JAL and NTT Docomo started selling JAL Mobile powered by ahamo on 25 June 2026. The ahamo price is untouched at JPY 2,970 a month for 30GB, and what the airline adds is a coupon: Dokokani Mile, the domestic award that normally costs 7,000 miles, for 1,500 miles once a year.
The price stays at JPY 2,970, and Dokokani Mile drops to 1,500 miles once a year
Every month on the plan earns a flat 125 miles, and flying an eligible fare on a JAL Group service adds 50 miles on a domestic sector or 100 on an international one. One Life Status Point a month goes towards JMB status as well. Keep the line for twelve months and the 125 miles come to 1,500 a year, which is exactly what the discounted Dokokani Mile costs to redeem.
The larger number is the gap rather than the accrual. A Dokokani Mile booking takes a domestic return for 7,000 miles normally and 1,500 with the coupon, so each use is worth 5,500 miles. What I would check before the monthly total, though, is whether the one coupon a year can be spent at all. Dokokani Mile does not let you choose where you go, so it is dead weight to anyone whose dates cannot move. The comparison against spending those 7,000 miles on an ordinary award is set out in the break-even on Dokokani Mile.
Anyone whose usage runs past 30GB in a month should stay away. JAL Mobile carries no equivalent of a top-up allowance, and speed drops once the allowance is gone. If you are already on ahamo, the Life Status Point award comes with conditions attached, so the contract you hold is the thing to check before applying.
