ANA ran a domestic ticket time sale from midnight on 24 July 2026 to 23:59 on 30 July, for travel between 17 August 2026 and 31 January 2027. It published fares for ten city pairs, from JPY 10,450 one way on Tokyo (Haneda) to Sapporo (New Chitose).

All ten pairs from ANA’s own “main routes covered (one-way fares)” list. Fares are those applying from the base date of 24 July 2026, for travel from 17 August onwards.

Only four of the ten start somewhere other than Haneda: Chubu to New Chitose, Itami to Sendai, Itami to New Chitose, and Naha to Ishigaki. Nowhere does ANA claim the sale reaches 100% of the network. What the page carries instead are two sentences — that seat numbers are limited because the sale is confined to particular periods, routes and flights, and that some periods, routes and flights carry no sale fare at all — with no list of blackout dates or excluded flights. For a pair not in the table, the only way to find out was to run an availability search during the sale week.

What changed most from the previous round was the travel window. The sale sold in late June covered 1 August to 24 October, just under three months; this one ran from 17 August to 31 January, five and a half, which brought the new year journey home inside it. The cost of that is the summer: with travel starting on 17 August, anyone flying in the first half of the month was out on that one condition alone. ANA also notes that tickets for travel from 25 October go on sale before the timetable for that period is fixed.

Fares fell as well. Haneda to New Chitose went from JPY 11,220 to JPY 10,450, a drop of JPY 770 or close to 7%; Haneda to Fukuoka from JPY 11,880 to JPY 11,330, down JPY 550; Haneda to Naha and Haneda to Itami each came down JPY 440. Naha to Ishigaki at JPY 5,720 and Haneda to Kagoshima at JPY 11,110 did not move. The trunk routes came down and the island route stayed where it was.

The conditions attached to the fare are where it gets expensive. It sells on the ANA website only. No rebooking is accepted, not even on the day of travel with an earlier flight sitting empty. Refunds carry a fee, upgrades are not available, and miles accrue at 50% of the sector’s base mileage. Seats cannot be chosen in advance; the first chance comes with online check-in 24 hours before departure. One checked bag of up to 23 kg travels free, and the passenger facility charge is added to the fare. Payment is due by 23:59 on the day you book, but the convenience-store, bank-transfer and Pay-easy options disappear four hours before that, which makes the real cut-off 19:58. Membership was not required — you could book without logging in and add a Mileage Club number afterwards.

Who it’s forTravellers able to fix dates from autumn through to the new year. At JPY 10,450 on Haneda to New Chitose, the flights for a three-day trip around Sapporo and Otaru come to a little over JPY 20,000 return. It is the wrong fare for anyone whose dates might move: rebooking is refused outright and a refund costs money, so every change means buying again.
Already booked?Seat selection opens with online check-in 24 hours before departure and not a minute earlier. Families who need to sit together should work out whether they can be at a screen at that hour. If the dates fall over the new year, rooms go before seats do, so settle the room first — check what a room costs on those dates before the seat.
Compared with past salesANA ran the same shape of sale again from 26 to 31 August, and all ten fares came back unchanged from the July round — Haneda to Naha at JPY 11,440, Haneda to Itami at JPY 9,130, twice in a row. The June round, with its shorter August-to-October window, is the one these figures moved away from. How to be ready when the next sale opens is in the booking techniques for cheap flights.

More: JAL’s July sale matched ANA to the yen on two pairs

JAL ran a web-only domestic time sale in the same month: a day for JMB members on 14 July, a day for everyone on 15 July, with travel between 24 August and 30 September — 38 days.

On the pairs both airlines published, Haneda to Itami came to JPY 9,130 at each, and Naha to Ishigaki to JPY 5,720 at each — identical to the yen, not merely to the same order of magnitude. Haneda to Naha matched too, at JPY 11,440. The two that separated were Haneda to New Chitose, where JAL’s JPY 11,000 sat about 5% above ANA’s JPY 10,450, and Haneda to Fukuoka, JPY 12,210 against JPY 11,330. JAL’s own floor was lower, at JPY 4,730 for Naha to Kumejima, because it flies island routes ANA does not.

The selling windows were the opposite of each other. JAL closed each of its two openings inside 24 hours; ANA left its fare up for seven days. The travel windows were 38 days against 168. So on the pairs where the fares matched, the choice was not about money. Anyone whose dates could move had more room with ANA; anyone already committed to flying before the end of September lost nothing to JAL’s shorter window.
