Eastar Jet ran an October–November early bird special on its Japan departures to Incheon and Busan. Kumamoto to Busan opened at JPY 1,000 one way. Selling ran from 10:00 on 19 August to 25 August 2026, for flights between 1 October and 30 November.

Kumamoto at JPY 1,000 comes without a bag, so the cheapest fare that carries 15 kg is Osaka at JPY 1,900

Five routes went to Busan: Kumamoto at JPY 1,000, then Osaka at JPY 1,900, Fukuoka at JPY 2,500, Sapporo at JPY 3,500 and Okinawa at JPY 4,000. The headline route is the one exception in the group — it is the only Busan fare sold without 15 kg of checked baggage. Put a suitcase in the calculation and Kumamoto and Osaka stop being comparable at all; on equal terms the floor is the JPY 1,900 from Osaka.

Incheon had seven routes, with Osaka and Tokushima tied at JPY 2,000. What separates those two is not money but the calendar. Tokushima is blacked out from 25 October to 30 November, Kagoshima from 1 October to 24 October — the usable windows point in opposite directions. Read the travel period as a flat two months and one of these routes loses its first half while the other loses its second.

The baggage rule is where the official page argues with itself. Its notes say the special fare is a one-way fare and includes neither taxes nor checked baggage, yet individual route cards carry a “15 KG checked baggage included” label. Counting the cards, eight of the twelve routes include it and four do not: Kumamoto–Busan, Osaka–Incheon, Tokushima–Incheon and Tokyo–Incheon. On those four a baggage charge lands on top of the displayed fare, which reshuffles the cheapest-first order once you look at what leaves your account. Japanese departures also carry the international tourist tax of JPY 3,000 per person, in force for departures from 1 July 2026. For a sense of the going rate that autumn, set this against the Jeju Air Kyushu promotion.

Where you bought it mattered too. The fare applied only to members booking through the official website, the mobile web or the app; the reservation centre and every other sales channel were outside it. Reading fare displays in general is covered in LCC cheap flight booking techniques, and since the fare line here is the smallest part of the trip, what a night in Seomyeon costs tells you more about the total than the fare table does.

Who it’s forTravellers out of Kumamoto or Osaka going to Busan with cabin baggage only — that is the one case where the JPY 1,000 survives to the end of the booking. It is no use to anyone arranging the trip through the reservation centre or a travel agency, because the fare only exists for members booking themselves on the website, mobile web or app.
Already booked?Sitting inside the travel period does not guarantee the fare. Eastar Jet notes that it may not apply during a route’s peak periods, and may not apply outside them either, and that the offer can be changed or ended early without notice. Tokushima and Kagoshima blackouts run in opposite directions, so match your dates against the route before anything else.
Compared with past salesBusan was busy that autumn: Jin Air’s Busan coupon from Fukuoka and Okinawa ran to the end of October. Where departure cities overlap, compare totals with baggage added and the ranking stops moving. How often each carrier runs a sale is lined up in Sale Coverage by Airline.

Across the twelve routes, Incheon runs from JPY 2,000 in Osaka to JPY 6,900 in Okinawa

Where the baggage column reads “no”, a checked bag is charged on top of the fare shown.
