Eastar Jet is giving out a coupon worth JPY 4,000 off the fare on its Busan routes from Fukuoka, Kumamoto and Okinawa. Coupons are issued until 30 November 2026 for flights through 31 December, but each one dies 14 days after you take it.

With a 14-day shelf life, the order you do things in decides whether the coupon is worth anything

The window that runs from 1 September to 30 November is the window for collecting the coupon, not for using it. Download one on 30 November and a mid-December flight is still inside the 14 days; download one in early September and it will be gone before you book anything in October. This is a coupon you fetch after the dates are settled, not before.

Two usage conditions are published — that one person’s fare exceeds the coupon’s JPY 4,000, and that the fare is JPY 10,000 or more — and the second is the one that does the work. The same airline was selling last-minute fares from JPY 100 one way until 7 September, and the coupon does not stack on anything like that. It exists for regular fares, which means it never overlaps with the airline’s own cheap days. The discount also stops at the fare line: fuel surcharges, airport facility charges and add-ons such as seat selection are all outside it, and the international tourist tax of JPY 3,000 per person applies to tickets issued from 1 July 2026 regardless. It works on payments in Japanese yen and does nothing if you pay in Korean won. Adults and children qualify; infants do not.

Collecting and applying it takes five moves.

StepWhat you do
1Press Download Coupon on the event page
2Find the Korea Tourism Organization (KTO) promotional coupon, JPY 4,000, in the coupon box in My Eastar
3Search a Busan route from Fukuoka, Kumamoto or Okinawa
4Confirm the outbound total puts the fare at JPY 10,000 or more
5Select it in the coupon field at payment and press Apply

No code is typed into a search box; the coupon lands in a member’s coupon box and is chosen at payment, so registration and a logged-in account come first. Buy a covered ticket with it and a T-money card preloaded with 5,000 won follows, on a first-come basis, handed over on the day you fly at the Eastar Jet check-in counter in Fukuoka, Kumamoto or Okinawa. How many exist is described only as running out when the set quantity is reached.

One condition is unresolved on the page itself. The peak periods in which the coupon does not work are not defined in the event text; they sit behind a separate link. Anyone aiming at a flight around the turn of the year should open that link before taking the coupon, because a 14-day clock leaves no room to discover the problem afterwards and collect a second one. Meanwhile the rest of the trip is the larger number: what Busan hotels cost on your dates moves the total further than JPY 4,000 does.

Who it’s forTravellers flying to Busan out of Kumamoto or Okinawa, where nobody else is discounting the route. It is the wrong instrument for anyone chasing the lowest possible price: below JPY 10,000 the coupon simply does not engage, so it cannot be combined with the cheap days it sits alongside. Anyone whose dates land in late December needs the peak-period definition first, or the coupon expires while they are looking.
Already booked? It is selected at payment, so it cannot be applied to a booking you already hold. A coupon that has expired can be collected again while the issue window is open, which is the one forgiving part of the design. Because the discount attaches to the fare line, the row to check on the receipt is the air fare — fuel surcharge and airport facility charges stay at their undiscounted amounts.
Compared with past salesThe airline’s own last-minute rounds work the opposite way, cutting the fare itself to a few hundred yen; this one takes a flat JPY 4,000 off a regular fare. On a day when a sale fare exists the sale usually wins; on a day when it does not, the coupon does. Waiting for one or the other is the wrong move — fix the date, then open both screens.

Three carriers discount Busan out of Fukuoka; out of Kumamoto and Okinawa the field thins to one

From Fukuoka, Jeju Air is handing out a code worth up to JPY 2,000 until 30 November, and it only works on fares of JPY 11,400 or less one way. Eastar Jet’s JPY 4,000 needs JPY 10,000 or more. The two thresholds nearly touch, which splits the market cleanly at about JPY 10,000: the cheap flights go to Jeju Air, the dearer ones to Eastar Jet, and in the narrow band between JPY 10,000 and JPY 11,400 both codes are live at once.

Jin Air also has a Busan coupon out of Fukuoka and Okinawa. Kumamoto, though, is reached by Eastar Jet alone, so a Kumamoto resident has nothing to compare. Okinawa has two carriers, Fukuoka has three. The further west and south the departure airport, the fewer the options — which makes where you leave from a bigger lever than when you collect the coupon.
