CROSS Suites Tokyo Asakusa opened on 3 July 2026, the first property of a new ORIX Hotel Management brand. It is a ten-storey building in Asakusa 2-chome with 78 rooms across eleven types, from 25 m² to 93 m². On the official booking site, a stay of 14 September started at JPY 14,915 for the smallest room, one guest, with consumption tax and service charge included and the accommodation tax still to come.

Seventy-eight rooms from 25 to 93 square metres, no restaurant in the building, and every plan sold without meals

The Standard Room is the smallest at 25 m² and there are seven of them. Above it sit seventeen Superior Rooms at 30 m², plus one accessible Superior, and five Superior Triple Rooms at 32 m² with three semi-double beds. The thickest band is the Deluxe Triple Room: twenty rooms at 39 to 40 m². The top of the list runs Deluxe Family Room at 54 m² for five guests, Suite Room 56 m², Junior Suite Room 60 m² and Premium Suite Room 63 m², each taking six. Connect a Premium Suite to a Superior and you get the 93 m² Connecting Room, which sleeps seven to nine. The building is a conversion of an existing hotel — construction started on 13 June 2025 and finished on 30 April 2026, on a site of 878.46 m² with 6,106.48 m² of floor area.

The word apartment sets an expectation the rooms do not entirely meet. What every room has is a worktop with a sink and a microwave; the official site states plainly that the mini kitchen carries neither an induction hob nor a gas burner. Anything that needs heat is cooked downstairs in the public kitchen. Washer-dryers follow the same pattern and are fitted only in the Premium Suite, Suite, Junior Suite, TOKYO Goldfish Suite and Connecting rooms. So does the bathtub: in the Standard Room the bathroom is a shower cubicle and nothing more. Guests booking a long stay on the strength of the brand name should read the individual room page before the room category.

The shared space carries the part the rooms give up. The ground-floor lounge, Hang Out @CROSS Suites, has table football and board games, and once or twice a week an event starts there at 20:00 — origami one night, a kendama challenge another. The public kitchen and laundry are on the same floor, and the second floor holds the gym, open 07:00 to 22:00, free and without booking, alongside self-service lockers. Two rooms are built as concepts rather than categories. The 54 m² ASAKUSA Room is the only Japanese-style room, with futon bedding, a tatami area, a balcony that looks towards Senso-ji, sliding screens printed from Hokusai woodblock motifs and wall colours taken from the Kaminarimon gate. The 63 m² TOKYO Goldfish Suite Room was supervised by Sumida Aquarium, run by the same ORIX group, and puts the two traditional ways of looking at a goldfish — from above and from the side — onto the walls and the ceiling.

There is no restaurant in the hotel. The word breakfast does not appear on the official site, the booking engine or the press releases, and every plan on sale — opening Best Available Rate, standard Best Available Rate, Early Bird 28 and 56, the three-night and five-night long stays — is sold without meals. Breakfast means going out or cooking in the public kitchen. The rate moves hard from one date to the next: the Standard Room ran from JPY 15,700 on 14 to 18 September, JPY 41,800 on 20 September and JPY 40,000 on 31 October. The opening Best Available Rate is on sale only until 30 September 2026, after which the base against which those figures were read changes.

Who it’s forGroups of four or more who want one room rather than three. The 54 m² Deluxe Family Room takes five, the 63 m² Premium Suite six and the 93 m² Connecting Room seven to nine, which is a range few hotels in central Tokyo can offer at all. It is the wrong booking for a long stay built around cooking: with no hob in the room, every hot meal is made in the shared kitchen on the ground floor.
Already booked?Check-in opens at 15:00 and the booking site shows the desk taking arrivals until 24:00; nothing official covers a later arrival than that. There is no car park, so driving means a coin lot nearby. A washer-dryer and a bathtub come with some of the eleven types and not others, and the Standard Room has a shower cubicle only — the individual room page settles it.
Compared with past salesThe displayed rate includes consumption tax and the service charge but not the accommodation tax. Tokyo charges JPY 100 per person per night between JPY 10,000 and JPY 15,000, and JPY 200 above that. From 1 April 2027 the structure changes to 3% of the room rate with nothing below JPY 13,000, which turns the JPY 200 on a 14,915 room into roughly JPY 450. Rates and start dates municipality by municipality are in the 2026 accommodation tax table, and five cities recalculated on identical terms are in how much the tax actually adds per night.
