Hoshino Resorts opened OMO7 Yokohama in front of JR Kannai station on 21 April 2026. It is a legacy hotel built inside the administrative wing of the old Yokohama City Hall, a 1959 building designed by Togo Murano, with 276 rooms. Rates start at JPY 36,000 per room per night for two people, tax included, meals extra.

The structure is the administrative wing of the former city hall, the first postwar building to be designated a historic structure by the City of Yokohama. Rather than demolishing it, the developers turned it into guest rooms and reopened it as part of the BASEGATE Yokohama Kannai complex. It belongs to the same line as HOSHINOYA Nara Prison, which sells the history of a building along with the night in it.

Nine room types run from 20 to 73 square metres. There is a Yagura Suite for six, a Kataribar Room for four and a Yagura Room for three, plus three types that take dogs. JPY 36,000 buys the room, so two people are paying JPY 18,000 each and a group filling the occupancy pays considerably less per head. Book it alone and the price does not move.

The same brand is also pitched for family visits: Hoshino Resorts proposes the “hotel homecoming” across 18 OMO properties, OMO7 Yokohama among them, spending the day at the family house and sleeping at the hotel nearby.

It is a minute from the south exit of JR Kannai, a minute from the subway station of the same name and seven minutes from Nihon-odori on the Minatomirai Line, with Yokohama Stadium directly opposite. Inside are OMO Base, which is reception and lounge at once, OMO Dining, OMO Bakery, an OMO Dog Garden, a work room and a laundry, under the house phrase “Kibun Jojo, Hama-ism”. Meals being charged separately means you can plan the evening around walking out to Chinatown instead, and what other rooms near Kannai cost that night is the comparison that tells you whether the building is worth the difference.
