Every Ghibli Park ticket is sold in advance, first come first served, and a whole month is released in one go: 2 p.m. Japan time on the 10th, two months before the month you want to enter. Tickets for December went on sale on 10 October, and January entry follows on 10 November. The O-Sanpo Day Pass Premium, which covers all five areas and the buildings inside them, costs an adult JPY 7,300 on a weekday and JPY 7,800 at weekends.

Seven ticket types start at JPY 1,000, and two of them are the ones you can book from abroad
Children aged 4 to 12 pay half on every ticket; under-4s enter free and are not counted in the party. A service charge is added when the tickets are issued. The English site sells the two Day Passes only, through LAWSON TICKET or Klook; the other five types are sold on the Japanese-language site. Checked on the Ghibli Park official site, 2026-10-12.
Splitting the range seven ways means the top pass is not the default answer. Howl’s Castle and The House of Witches open their doors to Premium holders without a further payment; everyone else queues at the Ticket Truck in the Valley of Witches for a same-day ticket, JPY 1,000 for the castle and JPY 400 for the house, and only if they already hold a ticket valid for that area that day. If the shopfronts and the outdoor cityscape are what you came for, the JPY 3,300 ticket reaches them. Hill of Youth and Dondoko Forest cost JPY 1,000 each on their own, and that price does not move at the weekend.
Most people who miss out lose the ticket before 2 p.m. rather than after it. Opening a LAWSON TICKET or Klook account once the clock has started is how a Saturday disappears. Register the day before, and have the sales page open and logged in by 1.50 p.m.; a fixed line holds up better than a phone connection when the whole month is released at once. Bookings cannot be changed or refunded once made, and the person named on the ticket can be asked for identification at the gate, so book in the traveller’s own name and carry the passport.
Turning up on the day gets you nothing. Park tickets are not sold at any entrance, and the only thing sold on site is the same-day building ticket in the Valley of Witches. The Grand Warehouse is the one area with a fixed entry time, in hourly slots from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., and you must be through the gate within an hour of it; two to three hours inside is normal. With an afternoon slot, walk Dondoko Forest and Mononoke Village in the morning. Both draw a queue after 4 p.m., when everyone converges before the 5 p.m. close.
How to book from abroad, and what cannot be changed afterwards
Overseas buyers book from the official English ticket page, which links to two sellers, LAWSON TICKET and Klook, and offers only the two O-Sanpo Day Passes. A ticket cannot be bought by phone or at the park, and nobody can buy on behalf of a visitor who is not going to enter. For questions the park runs an international line, +81 50 3626 2455, during opening hours, with English among the seven languages it answers in.
Each ticket type can be bought once per entry month, and one booking is capped at six tickets. A party of seven or more has to split into groups of six or fewer, each with its own named booker. A service charge is added when the tickets are issued.
At the gate, staff pick people at random to show identification. The person named on the tickets has to be there, and the park asks overseas visitors to bring a passport. Everyone in the party enters each area together with that person, and electronic tickets cannot be divided between phones. Premium holders are the exception once inside: after the first area and the Grand Warehouse, a wristband lets each person come and go alone.
Once a booking is made, the date, time, ticket type and number of tickets cannot be changed, and nothing is refunded. A ticket that is lost, damaged or stolen is not reissued. Buying to resell or to give as a gift is prohibited.
